I speak with first-time patients every single day, and the most common thing I hear is: "I have no idea what to expect." And honestly, I love that — because it means I get to surprise them. A visit to Zen Regenerative Wellness doesn't feel like going to the doctor. It feels like being welcomed into a private club where every detail has been curated just for you. Here's exactly what your first visit looks like.
Before You Arrive
Your Zen experience starts before you set foot in the clinic. After you schedule your initial consultation, our concierge team sends you a digital intake package that you complete at home, on your own time. No clipboards. No waiting room paperwork. This includes your health history, current medications, lifestyle questionnaire, and treatment goals. By the time you arrive, your clinician has already reviewed everything.
We also send a confirmation with directions, parking details, and a personal note from your concierge letting you know exactly who will be greeting you. If you're traveling from out of state — and many of our hair transplant and concierge recovery patients do — we coordinate everything from hotel recommendations to ground transportation.
Walking Through the Doors
The first thing patients notice is the atmosphere. Zen doesn't look or smell like a medical clinic. The lighting is warm. The space is elegant — dark tones, natural stone, soft music, the faintest scent of essential oils. You're greeted by name. Not "sign in and have a seat" — you're welcomed personally and offered a beverage while I walk you to your consultation room.
I know that sounds like a small thing, but it matters. Anxiety is the enemy of good healthcare. When patients are nervous, they forget to ask questions, they tense up during procedures, and they leave feeling uncertain. When patients are relaxed and comfortable, the entire clinical experience improves. Our environment is designed with intention — every element is there to put you at ease.
The Consultation
Your first consultation is unhurried. Whether you're meeting with Dr. Shewmake for a peptide evaluation, Brad for an IV or HBOT assessment, or our aesthetics team for Sylfirm X or injectables — the conversation starts with listening. We want to understand not just your symptoms, but your story. What's been going on? What have you tried? What does your ideal outcome look like?
From there, your clinician explains their recommended approach in plain language. No jargon dumps. No pressure. If labs are needed (and they usually are for hormone or peptide consultations), we draw them on-site — no separate lab visit required. We use an advanced panel that goes far beyond what conventional medicine typically orders, because optimization requires precision data.
If You're Here for a Treatment
If your first visit includes a treatment — an IV drip, NeoLight session, HBOT dive, or injectable — your treatment space is already prepared. For IV patients, that means a private infusion suite with a recliner, blanket, entertainment, and refreshments. For HBOT, Brad personally walks you through the chamber protocol and stays with you during pressurization. For injectables and aesthetics, our treatment rooms are private, temperature-controlled, and equipped with everything needed for your comfort.
Throughout your treatment, you're never alone with questions. Our clinical team checks in regularly, and your concierge is always just a step away if you need anything at all — from a phone charger to a schedule change to a simple glass of water.
Before You Leave
We never rush the exit. Before you walk out, your concierge reviews your post-visit instructions, confirms your next appointment, answers any remaining questions, and ensures you have direct contact information for follow-up. If you're starting a new protocol, we provide clear written instructions and make sure you're comfortable with at-home administration (for peptide injections, for example).
Within 24 hours, you'll receive a personal follow-up message from our team — not a survey, not a marketing email — a genuine check-in to see how you're feeling and whether anything came up that we should address.
Why Patients Come Back
I'll be honest — the treatments at Zen are exceptional. But the reason patients come back, the reason they refer their friends and family, the reason they drive hours to see us — is the experience. It's the feeling of being genuinely cared for. Of being known. Of walking into a space where your health is the priority and every detail has been handled for you.
That's what patient concierge really means. It's not a title — it's a promise. And it's one we keep, every visit, every patient, every time.
