When it comes to thinning hair, I always like to explain the why behind the treatment — because hair restoration is not just about putting something on the scalp and hoping for the best.
Healthy hair starts with a healthier scalp environment.
That is why we love combining Sylfirm X Radiofrequency Microneedling with BENEV Exosome Regenerative Complex+. This treatment is designed to stimulate the scalp, support the follicles, and create a better environment for stronger, healthier-looking hair over time.
It is not a magic overnight fix. Hair takes time. But when we are consistent, this is one of the most exciting regenerative treatments we offer for patients who are starting to notice thinning, shedding, or changes in hair density.
What Is Sylfirm X RF Microneedling for the Scalp?
Sylfirm X is a radiofrequency microneedling device. That means it uses tiny microneedles to create controlled stimulation in the scalp while also delivering radiofrequency energy into the tissue.
In simple terms, we are creating a very controlled healing response.
The tiny channels from the microneedling help stimulate the scalp. The RF energy adds gentle heat-based stimulation at targeted depths. Together, this helps activate the skin's natural repair process, improve circulation, and support tissue remodeling.
For the scalp, that matters because hair follicles need a healthy environment to function well. When the scalp is inflamed, sluggish, poorly circulated, or under-supported, the follicles may not perform at their best.
The goal of this treatment is to help "wake up" the scalp and support the follicles that are still active.
Why Add BENEV Exosomes?
After we stimulate the scalp with Sylfirm X, we apply BENEV Exosome Regenerative Complex+.
I like to explain exosomes as tiny messenger signals. They do not become new hair themselves. Instead, they help communicate with the skin and scalp cells and support repair, recovery, and regeneration.
BENEV describes its Exosome Regenerative Complex+ as containing stem-cell-derived lyophilized exosomes along with growth factors, peptides, coenzymes, minerals, amino acids, and vitamins. These ingredients are designed to support the scalp after treatment and help create a healthier environment for the follicles.
This is why the timing matters.
First, we use Sylfirm X to stimulate the scalp and create tiny controlled channels. Then, while the scalp is most receptive, we apply the exosome complex so the scalp gets regenerative support right away.
That combination is what makes the treatment so powerful.
What Is the Treatment Actually Doing?
This treatment works in a few important ways:
1. It stimulates the scalp
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that trigger the body's natural repair response. In hair restoration research, microneedling is thought to help stimulate collagen formation, new blood vessel formation, and growth-factor activity.
2. It supports circulation
Hair follicles need blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients. By stimulating the scalp, we are encouraging a healthier scalp environment around the follicles.
3. It may improve product delivery
The tiny channels created during microneedling can help topical regenerative products absorb more effectively into the treatment area. That is one reason microneedling is often paired with topical therapies in hair restoration studies.
4. It supports the follicles you still have
This is important: the best candidates are usually patients who still have active follicles. If an area is completely bald or scarred, expectations need to be different. But if the hair is thinning, shedding, or miniaturizing, our goal is to support those follicles before they weaken further.
What Does the Research Say?
A published study in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology looked at BENEV Exosome Regenerative Complex+ applied after scalp microneedling in men and women with self-perceived thinning hair.
The study included 30 patients — 15 men and 15 women — who received treatments on days 0, 30, 60, and 90, with a final assessment on day 120. The results showed significant increases in terminal and vellus hair counts, decreased shedding, increased follicular units per square centimeter, and decreased spacing between follicles. Investigator ratings showed improved hair quality in 97% of subjects and improved hair growth in 83% of subjects, with high patient satisfaction and no reported adverse events.
That is encouraging because it shows improvement in several areas we care about:
- Hair quality
- Hair growth appearance
- Shedding
- Follicle density
- Overall scalp response
There is also broader research supporting microneedling as a helpful tool in hair restoration. A systematic review of microneedling for hair loss looked at 22 clinical studies with 1,127 subjects and found generally favorable results when microneedling was used as an adjunct treatment for androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata, although the authors noted that larger, higher-quality studies are still needed.
Another review in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that microneedling showed promising results for androgenetic alopecia, especially when combined with other therapies such as topical minoxidil or platelet-rich plasma.
What Kind of Results Should Patients Expect?
This is not an instant-results treatment.
Hair grows slowly, and the hair cycle takes time. Most patients need a series of treatments, and results are usually gradual. The goal is to see improvement in things like:
- Less shedding
- Better hair quality
- Stronger-looking strands
- Improved density over time
- Healthier scalp appearance
I always tell patients: we are not chasing a one-day result. We are building a better scalp environment so the hair has a better chance to perform.
Consistency matters.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
This treatment may be a good option for someone who is noticing:
- Early hair thinning
- Increased shedding
- Weaker or finer-looking hair
- Loss of density
- Scalp changes affecting hair quality
It is especially helpful for patients who want a non-surgical, regenerative-style option and are realistic about the fact that hair improvement takes time.
It may not be ideal for every patient, especially if there is active infection, certain scalp conditions, uncontrolled medical issues, or areas where follicles are no longer active. That is why consultation and proper evaluation matter.
Why I Recommend It
The reason I like Sylfirm X with BENEV exosomes is because it is not just one approach.
We are not only stimulating the scalp.
We are not only applying a topical.
We are combining both.
The Sylfirm X treatment helps activate the scalp. The BENEV exosomes help support the scalp after that stimulation. Together, the goal is to improve the environment around the follicles so the hair can become stronger, healthier-looking, and better supported over time.
I never want to overpromise hair results, because everyone's hair loss journey is different. But for the right patient, this is a strong option because it targets the scalp environment — and that is where healthier hair starts.
